Manila - Ace Saatchi & Saatchi has reached a
major milestone, marking its 65th anniversary in the Philippines. It began as
Ace Advertising on 12 August 1949 and became Ace Compton in 1964. In 1982, it
partnered with Saatchi & Saatchi and has been part of the global Network
ever since.
The anniversary party was held in the lobby
of Saatchi House, and was highlighted by a video presentation of clips from the
many significant moments of the agency through the years. The lobby’s built-in
bar offered free-flowing drinks while music was provided by two of the
Philippines’ top acts: rock ’n’ roll band The Bloomfields and DJ David
Ardiente.
Among the clients in attendance were
Procter & Gamble, PLDT, Mead Johnson, Pharex, A. Menarini, Lamoiyan and
Diageo. Advertising trade magazine Adobo was also present.
“Our agency has experienced all the highs
and lows in the ever-evolving landscape of advertising for almost seven
decades,” COO Mio Chongson says. “It’s amazing to see how much we’ve grown, and
we’re very appreciative of the Saatchi & Saatchi Network for strengthening
our capacity to offer world class ideas and services to our clients.”
Chairman and CEO Arthur Young, Jr. says,
“We’re proud of where we stand today, as one of the multi-awarded giants in the
industry, handling some of the most innovative and exciting accounts in the
country. But we will always remember and be grateful to all the Ace employees
who paved the way for us. Ace Saatchi & Saatchi will continue to be a
company that both employees and clients will be happy to be a part of.”
